FAMOUS CZECHS First famous Czechs in Europe were probable our first kings, but we can't forget patron of Bohemia , Svatý Václav. He was killed by his brother Boleslav in year 935 or 929. His statue stay on Václavské náměstí in Prague and his portrait is on 20 crones coin. Around his statue have been demonstrations, because he is a symbol of a help in bed times. A man, who get a hereditary king title was Přemysl Otakar I. He lived in first half of 12th century and in the begining of 13th century. Next important Czech king was Karel IV. He was son of Jan Lucemburský and Eliška Přemyslovna. He was one from most competent kings in Midle Ages. Karel IV., Roman imperor, established Pregue University. Jan Hus tried to repare some stupid things in Catholic church, he was a doctor and profesor of theology on Prague's University, but for his ideas about reforms he was burnt. From his doctrine growed Hussite movement. Jan Amos Komenský was teolog and priest. He brought new view on schools. In 1628 he had to leave Bohemia. Then he reformed schools in some Europian countries. He tried to make some international institutions for ensureing of peace in Europe. He is burried in Holand. Bohuslav Brauner and Jaroslav Heyrovský were meaningful Czech chemists. Bohuslav Brauner propagated periodical law and he predicted existence of isotops. Jaroslav Heyrovský invented polarograf. It is an apparatus use in chemical analysis. He got a Nobel price. Ja3n Jánský explored blood groups A,B,AB,0. Jan Evangelista Purkyně was founder of experimental physiology and helped to formulate cellular theory. Another famous czech person is Tomáš Garigue Masaryk. He was a profesor of philosophy and sociology in Prague and he was a politic. During World War I he struggled for a indipendent Czechoslovak state and in 1918 people elected him for a president of ČSR. His name is joint mainly with democracy. Karel Čapek was a writer. He worked between two world wars. He is known mainly for his anti-war fictions and plays, witch warn against fascism. In the end of 30s fascistic propagand caused, that part of Prague inhabitants attacked Čapek, they wrote him anonym letters, broke his windows and so on. It was because he was danger for Hitler's régime. It was big press on him and so when he got pneumonia, he died. Our meaningful poet is Jaroslav Seifert. He got a Nobel price. Partly it caused political situation. He got it in 1984. Miloš Forman is film director. Since 1968 he have lived in USA. He made very famous films. For example Hair, Amadeus, Valmont ... Václav Klaus is famous, because his economical reform is best from east-block countries. He is surely very good economist. He is prime minister now. Václav Havel. At firs he was only author of plays, but later he was founder member and one from first speakers of CHARTA 77. He was prisoned for his political activities. In 1989 he was leader of OF and then he was elected for a president of Csechoslovakia. He is a president of Czech republic now.
